A yesterday. I search for information on the Graco Backless TurboBooster Car Seat, Galaxy, so i would like to describe here.
I am a RN and a nationally certified child passenger safety technician (I work at the hospital for children in OK) and I want to emphasize that these are wonderful seats. However, this is not an appropriate place for any child under the age of 5-6 regardless of their weight/height. I realize that in the product description that say this item is approved for children aged three. they need to change this immediately! Three children are not physically or developmentally ready for a booster. they are likely to leave, or unbuckle themselves, or move the shoulder belt behind their back that is very dangerous. (you'll notice that all new automobiles that are manufactured now no longer have lap belts only as they are so dangerous) children who are less than 5-6 can be seriously injured if driving in any type of infant seat. they need to be in a five-point belt even. their skeletons are too fragile for a "three-point belt" of an adult seat belts-a five-point belt forces collapse spreads over a larger, stronger portions of the body (shoulders, hips, groin-where there are strong bones) and an adult safety belt, even when the child is a booster, crosses on their abdomen too instead of their hips. If you were to get into an accident, many of their internal organs could be in their abdomen lacerati (cut in) and could bleed to death within a matter of minutes. I really hope that you will consider keeping your kids, which I'm sure love it and love you very much, a five point harness.
